Space Nails

These nails are simply out of this world! They are frankly adorable and super fun to paint and have on your nails in general. It is a little hard to paint recognisable shapes with your left hand but the coolness of your nails will make up for any messy blob shaped rockets.

As always i started with a basecoat to protect my nails from becoming stained, this is especially important as we are using dark polish. Then i add several coats of black until it was opaque. Then i gave all the nails a top coat. At this point i would make sure all your nail cuticles are neat and use a clean up brush dipped in acetone to round and smooth the bottom edge of varnish. As you can see i did not do this as i was in a rush so mine look quite messy.

Next i took an old yogurt lid and added spots of blue, green, red and yellow. Using a small brush i mixed a dark and light orange using the yellow and red. I started on my ring finger, i placed a red blob of red paint on my nail(off centree) and swirled in some orange and added a little yellow, i then made this as circular as i could and moved onto my index finger. Here; i shaped a rocket shape in red and went over it several times so it was opaque, then i added orange and yellow flames and added a yellow blob for the window. On my thumb i painted a blue circle and gave in green blobs to represent land on the earth. Unfortunately both my blue and green were quite dark so it looks a little like a black hole, i would recommend that you paint a white circle as a base before painting on the colours.

To give it a space like vibe i took a sparse glitter polish and painted around the designs to represent stars, this particular polish had different sized glitter that gave it a nice effect.
