Turquoise and Rose Gold Scaled Nails

I LOVED these nails, they where sooo pretty but also easter-ie, slightly tropical and sparkly.
The polishes i used are gorgeous, the turquoise is the same colour as my walls and the rose gold shimmers just enough. they complement each other perfectly and the accent nails emphasise that. i used some complex steps when painting these nails, including the use of gradients and nail vinyls.
To begin with i put clear base coat on all of my nails to ensure that they didn't stain.
I painted my thumb and pinky the rose gold, i put a thick layer initially and added quick dry glossy topcoat so they dried faster. I painted the ring fingers turquoise and again added a glossy topcoat.
On the index and middle finger i painted both turquoise and then added a top coat. i waited for this to dry overnight as the topcoat needs to be complete dry(not just to the light touch) otherwise the vinyls would pull it up when you removed them and that is a pain. next i positioned my nail vinyls on each nail ensuring to press the stickers into the very edges of my nail, i also cut the excess from over the top of my nails. For the middle finger i then painted a thick layer of the rose gold and pulled off the vinyl using tweezers. and added a top coat after letting it dry. for the ring finger applied the vinyl the same as the middle finger but before putting the gold on i added a layer of liquid latex on the skin around my nail to help with the ease of cleanup. once that was dry, i took a make-up sponge and painted on a stripe of rose gold then another of turquoise underneath it. i then dabbed the sponge onto my nail topping up the colours when needed and ensuring the sponge painted to the very edges of my nail.. then i took tweezers and peeled off the liquid latex and the vinyl at once. Finishing with a glossy top coat.

Through the painting process i had a small container of acetone and one of water with me at all times. This is used when some of the polish gets onto the skin and you can use a small cleanup brush dipped in acetone to remove it. i think its important to then clean it in water to stop the brush from hardening and breaking the bristles. All most every day through the week i wore the nails i added and extra layer of polish to each nail, this stops the ends from wearing down and chipping - keeping the nail vanish looking brand new.
