Marble Nails

These are very elegant and pretty nails perfect for more formal occasions. I wore them to my work experience and they were very elegant. The original method i tried to make the marble effect did not work so i ended up just painting them on. They are quite simple and the majority are only block colours and the marble nails are very simple and can be done easily with a thin enough brush.

First, as usual, i added a clear base coat to all of the nails and the painted on all of the initial block colours. The pink and glitter i used were very sheer so i needed to put lots of layers on them to make them opaque.

After sealing all the painted nails with a topcoat, i took the thinnest brush i could find, dipped it into grey polish and started doing some small wobbly lines from random points on the nail, then i added even smaller veins coming of the initial lines. Putting some acetone on my brush and using that to blend out the stronger greys helped soften the lines and made them look more marble-esque.

To finish of the marble design and tie all the nails together i put some of the shiny polish on a small dotting tool and started tracing over parts the main grey lines and where they intercept smaller lines. Finally sealing the design under several layers of topcoat.

These nails were super simple and gave a sophisticated and classic look.
